Preventive, restorative, cosmetic, urgent. Each one owns a colour, and that colour follows the treatment onto your chart and onto your estimate. If you are not sure which family your problem belongs to, call the desk and describe it in your own words.

Preventive · Ultramarine
Cleanings, children, gums, guards.
Most of what goes wrong in a mouth is slow and visible for years before it hurts. Preventive work is the cheap end of the practice, and we would rather keep you in it.
Cleanings and exams
Forty-five minutes with the same hygienist each time, twice a year for most people and every three or four months if your gums need it. X-rays on a set schedule, not every visit: bitewings once a year, a full panoramic every five.
Children's visits
First appointment is a ride in the chair, a count of the teeth and a sticker. Nothing else happens on day one, even if we see something. Sealants on the six-year molars when they come in, and fluoride varnish twice a year. Dr. Lindqvist takes most of our under-tens.
Gum health and periodontal maintenance
We measure six pockets per tooth and write the numbers down, so next year you can see whether a 5mm became a 4mm or a 6mm. Deeper cleaning is done in two halves, one side per visit, with the area numbed. If bone loss is advanced we will say so and refer you to a periodontist in Minneapolis.
Night guards and sports guards
Scanned, not moulded, so nobody gags. A hard night guard for grinding takes about ten days from the lab. Sports guards for hockey and football are made in the office in your team colour, and we keep the scan on file so a replacement is a phone call rather than a new appointment.
Restorative · Coral
Putting a tooth back to work.
Repair work, from a small filling to a full arch on implants. Dr. Raghunathan will look, show you the scan on the same screen she is reading, and give you real options with prices attached.
Fillings
Tooth-coloured composite, matched to the shade of the tooth next to it. A single surface takes about twenty minutes. We do not replace old silver fillings that are still sealed and not hurting, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a morning.
Same-day crowns
Scanned, milled in the room next door and fitted in one morning, usually three hours from chair to handshake. No temporary, no second trip. Some teeth are better served by a lab-made crown and a two-week wait, and we will say which one yours is before you book.
Root canals
Front teeth and premolars are done here, usually in one visit of ninety minutes. Molars with curved or extra canals go to an endodontist two miles away, because they have a microscope and we do not. A crown almost always follows, and it is priced separately.
Bridges and dentures
A bridge borrows the two teeth either side of a gap, so it only makes sense when those teeth already need crowning. Partial and full dentures are made with a Minneapolis lab we have used since 2012, over four or five appointments, with a try-in in wax that you look at in a mirror before anything is finished.
Implants
One tooth or a full arch, planned on a 3D scan and a printed surgical guide before anything is placed. Three to five months end to end, most of it waiting for bone to grow. There is a whole page on this one, including the cases where we recommend against it.

Appearance work, priced honestly.
None of this is medically necessary and insurance does not cover any of it. We show you the result against your own teeth before you commit, and we are happy to talk you out of it.
Whitening
Custom trays and gel to use at home over two weeks, which works about as well as the in-chair version and costs less. We hold a shade tab against your teeth first so you can see the realistic finish. Crowns, veneers and old fillings do not whiten, so the shade you pick now is the shade they stay.
Veneers
Porcelain, made by the same lab that does our bridges, over three visits. Enamel comes off permanently to fit them, which is the part most people are not told, so we say it twice. You wear a trial set in temporary material for a week before the real ones are made.
Bonding and reshaping
A chipped corner or an uneven edge, rebuilt in composite in one appointment of about forty minutes. Nothing is drilled away. It stains a little faster than porcelain and typically needs polishing every couple of years, but it is reversible and it costs a fraction of a veneer.
Clear aligners
For mild crowding and relapse after childhood braces, usually six to twelve months of trays worn twenty-two hours a day. Bite problems, missing teeth and big rotations belong with an orthodontist, and Dr. Raghunathan will tell you at the scan appointment which group you are in.
Urgent · Black
Call before 10 AM, sit in a chair today.
We hold emergency slots open every weekday morning. Say what hurts once, to Marisol at the desk, and you will not have to explain it again when you arrive.
Same-day emergency
Call (612) 555-0176 before 10 AM Monday to Friday and we will find you a chair that day. Outside hours the phone gives you Dr. Raghunathan's on-call number. You do not need to be an existing patient of ours to be seen.
Cracked or knocked-out tooth
If a whole adult tooth has come out, pick it up by the crown, not the root, put it in milk or in your cheek, and get here inside an hour. Time is the only thing that matters. A cracked tooth hurts most on release, when you stop biting, and that detail helps us find it.
Lost crown or filling
Keep the crown if you still have it; often it can be recemented the same day for a fraction of a new one. Drugstore temporary cement is fine for a night or two. Chew on the other side and do not try to glue it with anything that was not sold for teeth.
Swelling and abscess
Call, do not wait it out. Swelling in the face or jaw is an infection with somewhere to go, and it does not resolve on its own because the pain eased off. If the swelling is affecting your breathing or your swallowing, go to the emergency room now rather than calling us.
Money
You get the number before we start.
Nobody at Roanlight is paid on treatment volume. If a cheaper option will do the same job for the same number of years, that is the one you will hear about first.
How estimates work here
Every treatment is quoted in writing before anything is done, itemised line by line and labelled by tooth number, so "tooth 13, crown" is a line you can check rather than a lump sum you have to trust.
Your insurance is applied on the estimate itself, not discovered afterwards. The figure at the bottom is what you pay. If an insurer has not confirmed a benefit yet, we mark that line as an estimate and say so out loud.
If we open a tooth and find something different, we stop, show you, and re-quote before continuing. That has happened about a dozen times in the last year.

These are ranges, before insurance, and they exist so you are not walking in blind. They are not a quote. The written estimate you sign is the real number, and it is the one we hold ourselves to.
